Step 2: Gain more and more experience
It is well said, “Practice makes a man perfect”. After completion of the course, you really need to work more and more on your welds and gain as much experience as that you can appear for the next step that is obtaining a welder’s Qualification. Only when you are confident on your welds that meet AWS requirements and have acquired an ample amount of skills, you are ready for Welding Qualification Exam.
Step 3: Take the Welder’s test and Obtain your welder Qualification
Once you have taken the test and you get passed, you will be awarded Welder’s Qualification. In case you fail, no worries, you will need to practice and reschedule the take another test.
After six (6) months, you will become a Qualified Welder. Every six months you need to maintain your welding Qualification and for that, you need to submit maintenance Qualification paperwork to American Welding Society. For this, you will need signatures of your current employer to verify that you are still working in the welding trade.
